WHY STORY AND PERSPECTIVE ARE GAME CHANGERS

The way we see a situation shapes how we respond to it.

Whether you’re leading a team through change or helping youth feel seen, our mindset and stories matter. These workshops utilize creative metaphors, practical reflection, and emotionally intelligent facilitation to help individuals shift their perspective, strengthen relationships, and unlock new ways forward.

Participants leave with actionable tools, deeper insights, and repeatable strategies they can apply immediately to lead with clarity or support others with care.

WORKSHOPS

Lens Shift – Reframing Challenges to
Lead With Clarity

Audience: Teams, HR leaders, organizations navigating change.

What It’s About: A mindset reset for individuals and teams who want to reframe setbacks into momentum.

Using photography as a metaphor, this interactive workshop helps participants shift their limiting expectations to embracing clarity, courage, and curiosity.

  • The lens we choose shapes not only the stories we tell but also how we lead, collaborate, and respond to challenges.

In this hands-on, story-rich session, participants explore how mindset influences perception, decision-making, and resilience. Drawing from Jen Allison’s creative expertise as a photographer, educator, and speaker, this workshop offers a powerful metaphor for navigating uncertainty: learning to adjust your lens to unlock new perspectives.

Through engaging activities, real-world reflection, and practical tools, participants will discover how cognitive habits like fear and perfectionism distort clarity and learn how to reframe them. They'll practice shifting internal narratives, build a shared language for possibility-focused teamwork, and strengthen personal resilience by cultivating curiosity, adaptability, and a beginner’s mindset.

By the end of the session, participants leave with a practical, repeatable toolkit they can use in everyday moments of tension, leadership, or change, reframing setbacks into momentum and leading with greater clarity, courage, and confidence.

    • Teams will develop curiosity-driven habits and shared language to navigate ambiguity, change, and decision-making with greater confidence.

    • Teams will examine both individual and collective expectations, identify limiting narratives, and practice reframing them to unlock new possibilities.

    • Teams will leave with practical tools for cultivating curiosity as a daily habit that fosters learning, adaptability, and emotional regulation.

    • Teams will learn a repeatable framework for “lens-shifting”—realistically adjusting perspective to build resilience in uncertain or high-pressure situations.

    • Teams will engage in creative exercises that celebrate experimentation over perfection, thereby strengthening innovation and psychological safety.

  • 60, 90 or 120-minute versions are available.

All We Are Is Story.
Decolonizing Youth Voice & Identity

Audience: Educators, youth workers, and community leaders.

What It’s About: An interactive, reflective session inspired by a photography storytelling project, Threads of Truth.

Discover how to support youth mental health and identity through photography, storytelling, and culturally safe practices that prioritize consent and connection.

  • All We Are Is Story invites participants to explore how creative storytelling can support student well-being, identity, and belonging. Rooted in the collaborative, community-informed project Threads of Truth, this hands-on session offers practical examples of how photography and narrative can open space for youth voice, grounded in consent, cultural safety, and historical awareness.

Participants will experience how stories can affirm identity, surface emotional truths, and strengthen connections between individuals and communities. Through reflective activities, image analysis, and relational dialogue, they will also explore storytelling as pedagogy, connect it to a wholistic framework for youth support, and reflect on how it aligns with the Circle of Courage model. The session will highlight impact stories from Threads of Truth to illustrate how creative practices can support mental health and emotional growth.

Whether you’re an educator, facilitator, or community leader, you’ll leave with inspiration and strategies for building story-based initiatives that honour the lived experience of participants, without imposing one-size-fits-all frameworks.

    • Recognize the importance of cultural safety, community relationships, and historical awareness in youth storytelling projects.

    • Identify how photography and creative expression can support emotional reflection, self-representation, and voice among students.

    • Apply adaptable storytelling strategies that support belonging, agency, and well-being across diverse educational and community contexts.

    • Facilitate reflective exercises that connect identity, emotion, and story, without requiring personal disclosure or replicating culturally specific models.

    • Explore how storytelling connects to a wholistic model of youth well-being and aligns with frameworks like the Circle of Courage.
Reflect on the impact of Threads of Truth as an example of narrative-based mental health support in educational and community settings.

  • 60 and 90-minute workshops are available.
