Photo Series Descriptions

Landscape of Grief

This photo series aims to explore how a hometown transforms over time and the sense of loss that comes with it. Familiar buildings and landmarks fade away, replaced by new structures, leaving people with a mix of nostalgia and sadness. The project contrasts these ever-changing urban landscapes with the enduring presence of nature, which serves as a constant reminder of home. Through photography, it reflects on how we navigate change, preserve memories, and come to terms with the passage of time.

Dichotomy

This photo series aims to examine two familiar contrasting narratives of Thunder Bay. While many only see the city’s picturesque landmarks or its struggles, this project challenges that limited perspective. It will encourage viewers to consider reframing these narrow ideas through storytelling and connection-based photography, celebrating the compassion and kindness that can be found throughout the city.
